Fabulous Italian Yoga retreat in Tuscany with Keri Ann of NYC. June 5-12 2010 Italian Retreat: June 5th thru 12th 2010 with Keri Ann
I recently had the opportunity to personally visit this beautiful 12th Century Benedictine Monastero nestled in the breathtaking and tranquil hills of central Italy at the crossroads of Tuscany, Umbria and Le Marche. Speaking from my own firsthand personal experience, this place is truly amazing! Pictures really don't do it justice.

How can I convey the homey atmosphere this place offers? The Monastero itself is like an extension of your own home. It has been restored with an attention to detail seldom seen today as well as incorporating modern conveniences. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and the rooms are very large and roomy. There is a large kitchen, as well as two sitting rooms, all with fireplaces. The former chapel is a massive room with vaulted ceilings and a fireplace. The furniture in there can be moved to the side and will be the location of the yoga and meditation classes.

Outside, you are surround by beautiful mountains and you can hear the river flowing in the background while you lounge by the pool with a glass of vino or a cup of tea/cafe. The atmosphere here is so peaceful and tranquil you may never want to leave! There is a large outdoor patio with an authentic working wooden oven. This is the location for the opening night dinner party. The patio can also be used as another location for yoga classes, depending on the weather. Along the side of the patio there is a large garden of fragrant lavender that is the back drop to the kidney-shaped heated pool.

The Monastero is situated between two very quaint villages. They are within walking distance and offer many places to eat and drink, or shop. Or you can just relax at the local cafes and sip cappuccinos all day. This is the real authentic Italy- where you will find Mama in the back making the pasta:)

The Monastero is located close to Assisi, Siena, and Perguia so I would suggest renting a car from the airport or train station so you can sightsee and travel around the area, visit other neighboring villages, or tour the back roads of the Le Marche region. On the way to the Monastero, you will pass through some really scenic areas with breathtaking views as well as going through a mountain gorge. Make sure to bring your camera along! And I just heard that George Clooney is leaving Lake Como and is looking to buy a place in this area. What better way to experience this beautiful area than spending a week at this yoga retreat?

DATES OF THE YOGA RETREAT: June 5th through 12th
