How to get rid of the pain in your neck and upper backSlept wrong? Pinched nerve in your neck? get rid of it quickly
On the last night of the holiday weekend I must have slept funny because when I woke up I experienced sharp pain when I tried to move my head and neck..Nothing was really helping get rid of the pain. I was concerned about going to my yoga class today because I was afraid that I was just going to aggravate the situation by trying to get into the asanas. Thank goodness I did not listen to myself and I got into the car and headed for my class. Our teacher lead us into a lovely flow class that was vinyasa, anusara and ishta inspired. We created heat within our bodies which allowed my joints to become lubricated. With each deep breath I was accepting new life and with each exhalation I was ridding my body of toxins and unwanted excess. The asana that seemed to help the most was the reverse bridge that we did with our feet on the wall.

reverse bridge pose: place your tush close to the wall and with bent legs place your feet flat on the wall. Move out from the wall if you need more room to get your feet flat. Place your hands initially by your side with your palms pressing into the floor firmly. lift your hips up and as you press your hips up you are stretching the muscles in your shoulders and upper shoulder blades. To increase the stretch for your shoulders and neck intertwine your hands behind your back inching them into the middle of your back gently. Enjoy the stretch. Take 5 deep cleansing breaths and then slowly release your body down the wall.

Remember this reverse bridge pose if you ever end up with a pain in your neck. if you have a quick pose that will help get rid of a pain or ache please share it with us. info@lovepeaceyoga.com
