Inversions.. Fun & good for you at the same time!Flip upside down for joy: The Benefits of Inversions
Inversions are a way of having fun and clearing your head and lymphatic system all at one time. For centuries yoga teachers have recognized the idea of turing the body upside down to help aid with relaxation. Headstands, handstands and forearm balance and shoulder stand are just a few poses that are inversions but there are many other modifications for inversions to help aid with lymphatic drainage, relaxation and stress breakers such as simply putting your legs up the wall and taking some deep cleansing breaths. Inversion of any kind helps to retrieve blood from your legs and lower body and carrying it upwards against gravity and easing the circulation process. The faster the lymphatic system is cleared the faster the ache and pain of stiff muscles disappears.

In addition inversion helps increase oxygen flow to the brain.

Here are some additional benefits of inversion: *Helps reduce effects of aging caused by gravity: inversion helps keep internal organs resume their normal shape and place in the body.

*Increases oxygen to the brain: the increase in oxygen allows the brain to remain active and alert.

*inversions enables the body to stretch and realign

*reduces pain in overworked muscles

*strengthens ligaments: gentle inversion helps to protect active people from serious injury by helping the ligaments stay strong and attached to connective tissue.

So don't be afraid to go upside down. Have fun.. be challenged and feel great knowing that you are doing something so beneficial for your body.
