Ali Campbell came to yoga through sports. An All-American and collegiate swimmer and semi-professional soccer player, she began her yoga practice almost 15 years ago at a gym in California. She taught young children in California’s public school’s while working on her masters in education. After living for two years in Rome, Italy, Ali returned to the East Coast. It was after the birth of her second child when Ali found herself at Starseed Yoga and Healing, enrolled in a yoga teacher training program with the late Jyoti Chrystal.

Since then she has taught yoga in numerous studios, homes, schools and places of worship in North Jersey, including Starseed, Garden State Yoga and the Helen and Bill Geyer Family Y.

Students find Ali’s style of teaching accessible, caring and opening. She whole-heartedly believes that yoga is for everybody and every body. Her classes weave together inner body awareness, alignment, and love.

She is grateful to her teachers. In particular, but not limited to, Mrs. Kleindinst, her kindergarten teacher, Rexine Krause, 5th grade teacher and Sara Willoughby-Herb, college professor. Her community of yogis who continue to teach, challenge and inspire. Jyoti Chrstal, for opening the door, Christopher Ray, Lisa Rotell, Beth Schultz and Jillian Pransky for their teachings. Her mother, who taught her how to weave honesty and love together. Her father, who taught her the importance of hard work. Her two gurus, Luca and Evie and her loving partner, Ryan, with out whom, none of this would be worthwhile.
