Danielle Diamond is a 500hr+ registered teacher. She is committed to teaching her students the physical asanas with a focus on alignment and breath, then combining them with meditation and pranayama.
Prior to becoming certified, she stumbled upon yoga through her career in television. In 1997 she was producing a fitness video for MTV and needed to find a yoga teacher. At the time she was a hard-core runner who had no time for stretching, but in the interest of research she took a few classes. The day she stepped into the now infamous Jivamukti yoga, and took her first class with Sharon Gannon, was life-changing. Danielle was hooked.
A few years and two sons later, Danielle decided to turn her personal passion for yoga into something she could share with her community. In 2004 she completed a nine-month training program and has been teaching ever since.
Danielle continues to study with world-renowned teachers. She has completed an advanced vinyasa teacher training with Shiva Rea, plus week- long trainings with Tim Miller, Anna Forrest, Cyndi Lee and David Nichtern. She has also taken intensive workshops with Rodney Yee, Bryan Kest, Beryl Bender- Birch, Rolf Gates, and Baron Baptiste. Most importantly, however, are those teachers closer to home- Jennifer Kohl, who she will always be grateful to, for the opportunity to start her teaching career at Lotus Yoga; and Christopheray, whose moral compass and wise-ass intensity with which he teaches continue to inspire her.
As a result of her practice, Danielle feels she is in the best shape of her life—physically, mentally and ultimately spiritually. She has much more patience for the everyday challenges in life and most important, for her family. The eight limbs of yoga have taught her not only the value of compassion and contentment, truth and service, but at the end of the day being okay with each moment and what it holds.
Through Blue Om Yoga, Danielle provides instruction customized for each student’s individual practice. Whether this is your first class, or you have been practicing for years, Danielle will tailor the asanas, pace, meditation, and pranayama to suit your level. If you are looking to get in shape, relax, or are serious about taking your yoga to the next level—possibly embarking on a spiritual practice, your private session will reflect that desire.
